Adventures
California - Oregon Coast

Departing Utah for the coast on September 11th 2008, we headed for Route 4 over the High Sierras under the Full Moon. A dramatic winding road to the summit with vast drop offs to the canyons below. The summit offered moonlit reflections of high mountain lakes. Across the Sacramento plains and vast areas of wind turbine electrical generators with Full Moon panoramic at sunset. After climbing to the top of Mt. Tamopias for the view of San Francisco and the ocean, I headed slowly north up Route 1 of the California coast to the tall trees.

The mist rolls in with the pounding surf at Bogotá Bay is music to my ears. The Seagulls feast on a box filled with dry good snacks. They find their catch and fly away with my bag of sour cream potato chips as I drift into a soft sleep to the pounding surf.

The sharp cliffs of the Mendocino shoreline with exploding tidal waves inspires the creative senses. The evening light is dramatic as the swells role in leading to awe inspiring images. As I walked back to my SUV I was a huge bag of hemp along the trail head, temped I left it lay where it was, and departed to the quaint village at dark for a cup of cap topped with whipped cream.

Walking through the redwoods does something to accentuate my senses and spiritual awakening. A similar sense when I rise in to Mount Ogden bowl and in jagged cliffs on a crystal clear powder day. These trees standing tall against the test of time make one appreciate the vastness and splendor of nature and the smallness of man.

The Lost Coast is rugged and immense. Winding up and down over hill and dale towards the ocean the massive California oak trees spread out to cast large shadows on the golden fall grasses. The limited access to the coast seems to go on forever and suddenly into view is the vast Pacific Ocean with miles and miles of deserted beach. Walking to the rolling waves of classical IPOD sounds clears my thoughts.

The Oregon coast, jagged rocks, crashing surf and salty air greets the morning mist. Bandon Dunes, Heceta Lighthouse, seals surfing waves, WOW! Multnomah Falls, serenity falling, Tragedy! Break-in, stolen laptop... all is lost! Will go again. Promise!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
